Liverpool sign another star Scouser to long-term contract

After a quiet summer in the transfer window, Liverpool have just signed another star Scouser to an extension, keeping him at Anfield for five more years. That player is of course, midfielder Curtis Jones.

Curtis Jones is a Scouser born and bred, and is quite an electric midfielder, with pace and creativity going forward. The only chance he has gotten in the Liverpool senior side has been in the summer preseason tours, and in the League Cup loss away at Wolverhampton last season. Nonetheless, he has impressed enough to get a new contract offered by the coaching staff and Jurgen Klopp.
Furthermore, in those games he has impressed heavily, especially in the summertime. Last summer, you may remember he teed up a beautiful cross which Xherdan Shaqiri biked home against Manchester United at the University of Michigan.
With the amount of games the Reds will have to play this season across the FA Cup, League Cup, Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup in December, it could spell a chance for the 20 year-old. Klopp’s men will need an awful lot of squad rotation to keep fresh against a Manchester City team that will be on their heels all season.
In addition to squad rotation, the German manager has admitted to loving having Scouse players in his team according to the It is a unique situation to be a boy from Liverpool, as everyone wants to be the next Jamie Carragher or Steven GerrardTrent Alexander-Arnold has lived that dream to a reality, getting to lift the sixth European Cup through the streets of Liverpool and West Derby, where he was born and raised. While Curtis Jones was also on that bus, enjoying the festivities, it now seems as though he will get a chance to contribute to one of Europe’s best football teams.
