What Klopp said to Phil
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed he told Philippe Coutinho that his move to Bayern Munich would be a good fit.
The Reds were interested in trying to resign the Brazilian but were not in a financial position to afford the deal.
He instead securing a switch to the Bundesliga in a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
In a video interview with German outlet Bild , Klopp admitted he advised his former player to make the move despite it having a negative impact on his former club, Bundesliga title rivals Borussia Dortmund.
Likelihood: You get the sense Liverpool could have brought Phil back, but the deal made little sense given his exit triggered the best run of their modern era.
The Messi future
Barcelona are plotting to offer a 'life contract' to star man Lionel Messi.
The future of the Argentine has been big news since the clubs president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, confirmed the existence of a clause in his contract that Messi could leave for nothing every summer.
Messi's current contract is in effect until 2021, but within the clause the the 32-year-old has the ability to terminate his contract singlehandedly next summer if he wanted to.
However, Bartomeu released a calming statement on Friday to which he said he had "no doubt he will stay for many years."
Likelihood: Shame, really. Be good to see if he could do it on a rainy night at Stoke Turf Moor.
